You now have a COMPANION dog. They are not to be left outside all day or night. They are not to be confined for long periods of time. They like the bed and furniture. They are light shedders and need regular maintenance on grooming. A couple of minutes a day will keep their ears just beautiful. They are the most loving companion dog on the planet in my opinion. If any of notations are not to your liking then this is the wrong breed for you.
Puppies need water down all the time. Food should be fed at regular times and left down. You will create a grazer if you leave it down. Not good for potty training either. Pick up any food that if left after 20 minutes and feed at the next feeding time. When the puppy comes home make sure they eat and don't get hypoglycemia. Een if you have to give a few kernels by hand.
Baby proof your home. Notice unsafe wires or your puppy will. Go online and 100 things poisonous to your dog. You will be shocked!Remove such plants from your home. Keep you puppy out of drafts. Buy safe toys. Petedage.com and Baxterboo.com do a nice job with quality and price. Petflow.com for their Orijens Puppy Dry Food. It's human grade. Roll up expensive carpets with that yummy fringe until the puppy is older. DO NOT DISCIPLINE USING YOUR PUPPY'S NAME. The name should only be associated with praise. Take your puppy out every 2 hours in the day time at first. Nights are good and out first thing in the morning. Figure 1 hour per month old in the daytime. If their eyes close and they wake up , they go out. Period. Nap/potty. They go together. Your puppy is only as good as you are.
Vinegar one quarter and three quarters water is a good mix to clean up urine anywhere on anything. It neutralized the odor. Do not allow small children to carry the puppy. Never leave the puppy on the furniture and walk away. Never. They will fall off and injure themselves. An injury that could surface later and you forgot. Just like a baby folks. You have to pay attention. And lastly, dental floss is a killer. Hit the covered trash can or put it in the kitchen trash. This is all to help you avoid disasters.
Thanks for choosing me and love this baby. Cavaliers change your life.
